Hi Darlings!

It’s somehow 2025, and Artifice Season ELEVEN is coming your way…

As you know, I’m totally obsessed with this project. It reveals so much to me. And there is some serious wisdom in these Season 11 episodes. What absolutely incredible people!

Read on for a little teaser about each episode, then keep scrolling for a photo gallery where you can see some of this season’s guests’ creations. Oooooh I love them all so much!

196: Ceramicist Kate Schroeder – I love Kate’s work (have truly never seen anything like it), and love her artistic values. This episode starts the season off strong with discussion about the value of the objects in our spaces. I’m so here for it!

197: Author and Manga Translator Zack Davisson – I found one of Zack’s books in a perfect little curated bookshop while on a treasure hunt in Seattle. We had a great discussion about perspective, and Zack’s thoughts on translation got my brain doing a WHOLE new thing (sidenote: so cool to go from this conversation into reading Three Body Problem this past summer. I had so many thoughts I wouldn’t have considered before this chat with Zack!)

198: Leather Sculptor and Watercolorist Mike Staum – Another Seattle artist I had the joy of meeting during my treasure hunt. And what a cool guy to chat with. Can’t wait to re-listen to this one!

199: London-based Ceramicist Anna Katharina Jens. I remember this conversation feeling so comfy and inspiring. Anna brings wisdom from a multi-faceted (multi-medium) background, and a beautiful set of artistic values. I’ll definitely be adding one of Anna’s Swirl Bowls to my space eventually! #wishlist

EPISODE 200!!!!! This one’s a surprise for now… 🤫🎉

201: Surrealist Painter William Higginson – This one’s a favorite for sure! What incredible work, what incredible perseverance, what joyful energy. I’m so glad I got to chat with this rad person.

202: Painter and Culture-Building Baddie Sara Peterson – Loved chatting with Sara about how she’s putting her creativity to beautiful use building up an arts community in Kingman, Arizona. Grassroots movements ftw! Also, such beautiful works!

203-204: Singer-Songwriter Callie Crofts (Die Shiny) coming in with an Artifice FIRST. We simply needed two sessions because we had SO much to talk about. I’m so inspired by Callie. Can’t wait to share these conversations with you.

205: Author Pat Partridge – My favorite memory of this episode is the way Pat and I had such different perspectives on so many things. It was so fun to “dance” with Pat on a few art controversies. Woo!

206: Author, Photographer, Casting Director Robert Monroe – This conversation was so special. It moves me so much to talk with artists I NEVER would have met without Artifice, but feeling immediately like long-lost friends. Truly magical.

207: Interior Designer and Design Psychologist Amber Dunford – Amber is BRILLIANT, and deeply kind. This conversation warmed my soul, and filled my brain to the brim. I’m really excited to listen back to this one and take all of the notes!

208: Ballerina Olivia Book – Maybe Artifice’s youngest guest ever, but you wouldn’t guess it! This lady is phenomenal. A true inspiration. And so, so kind. What a treat to talk with her!

209: Sommelier Katharine Hooper – girrrrrrl I loved this conversation SO much. Katharine and I hit that perfect neurodivergent tangent-friendly spark I always long for. We covered SO much ground, and blew both of our minds.

210: Painter, Sculptor, Writer, GODESS Andrea Durfee – I couldn’t think of a better end to this season. I felt held and soothed throughout this whole conversation. Andrea is magical in every way, and absolutely #goals for me. So inspired by her.

These episodes will roll out between January and June. I hope you love them as much as I do.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
